Meet The Designer

"I have come from a long line of hard working artists and entrepreneurs who celebrate African culture and visual arts. My mother is from Kumasi, Ghana and my father is from Ogun State Nigeria, I, myself was born in the Bay Area, California.

With the inspiration of growing up in both African and American societies, I have been able to coexist in both worlds. I am able to bring my identity to life through Layo Duafe and fulfill my passion of bridging the youth of African diaspora as well as indigenous Africans through knowledge of oneself and their culture.

My Vision is to make West African Fashion and Culture more accessible to youth of African descent worldwide.  I am creating material not only to tell my story but for fashion statements made by others when wearing Layo Duafe."
